With 4 weeks until we depart on our epic adventure, i thought it would be a good time to get this blog up and running.
Our training has been going well - in the past couple of months, Sian & I have clocked up over 1000km each and the five of us have managed to meet up for a training ride in the New Forest, which was great.
We also almost had our first BIG mishap of the event on that day, when on the way home, Sian's bike disappeared from sight in my rear view mirror... Fortunately, the bungee cords we had used to attached it to my bike & the bike rack held strong and as we slowed down the bike reappeared. Needless to say, not trusting the bike rack any more, we pulled over and the bike spent the rest of the journey in the back of the car.
The route plan is almost complete, just the last couple of days on the mainland and the 2 days in Sicily to complete and we have our route. We will post it up shortly...
Just now thinking about packing our bikes for the flight & the accessories we will need for the trip and getting organised - the time's going to fly over the next 4 weeks, so need to keep on top of things.
